The offices of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock closed to the public at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 23 because of a winter storm. The Inclement Weather Policy is in effect for diocesan staff. The offices will remain closed until 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 if weather permits. If a later reopening is necessary, an update will be posted here on the diocesan website. The 70th annual Diocese of Little Rock Catholic Youth Convention is scheduled for April 8-10 at Robinson Center and the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock. This event was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so high school youth have not gathered for this event since April 2019. This year's keynote presentation will be provided by Jackie Francois Angel and other special guests. She is a Catholic speaker, vlogger, worship leader and author. Applications are now being accepted for Búsqueda #48, which will be held at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock April 8-10. A $30 deposit is required with the application. The total cost to attend is $95, which includes lodging, meals, materials and t-shirt. Space is limited. No applications will be accepted after March 18. The weekend will include talks, videos, music, skits, prayer, small group discussion and more. This Lenten faith formation program for adults will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday and end on Sunday at noon in Fletcher Hall. The Diocese of Little Rock Confirmation Retreat returns in 2022 after being canceled in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be held Sunday, Feb. 27 at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 6 but had to be rescheduled because of winter weather. This peer-led event is open to Catholic youth who are preparing to receive the sacrament of confirmation during the school year and are unable to attend a confirmation retreat in their own parishes.
