The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops partners with other organizations to promote National Marriage Week each year to help build "a culture of life and love that begins with supporting and promoting marriage and the family." Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointment, Feb. 2, 2022, for the Diocese of Little Rock. Effective Feb. 6: Rev. Polycarp Ssebbowa, suspended from the office of pastor of St. James Church in Searcy and St. Richard Church in Bald Knob, because of a delay in his immigration case. He will be residing at Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock. Chandra Kodavatikanti, relieved of his responsibilities as administrator of St. John the Evangelist Church in Huntsville and associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Fayetteville to return to India due to a delay in the renewal of his visa; Rev. With these listening sessions, the Church desires to learn." Sister Mickey Espinoza, MCP, added: "The listening sessions are our opportunity to tell the Church what is in our hearts, and together be open to the Spirit and where this leads our parish communities and universal Church in the future." The annual Retirement Fund for Religious collection will be held Dec. 4-5 in the Diocese of Little Rock. Coordinated by the National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO), the appeal benefits thousands of elderly Catholic sisters, brothers and religious order priests whose religious congregations lack adequate retirement funding. Please give to those who have given a lifetime. Last year, two religious communities in the Diocese of Little Rock received financial support from the Retirement Fund for Religious. St. Nicholas Partners is an annual Advent appeal to raise money for the ministries of Catholic Charities of Arkansas (CCA). Examples of what a donation can do include buying medicine for a patient of the Westside Free Medical Clinic, assisting a victim of domestic violence or providing a Bible to an inmate seeking guidance. All the ministries of CCA provide services to the most poor and vulnerable among us.
