Lenten 40 Days for Life goes to March 28
The Lenten campaign of 40 Days for Life is being held outside the Planned Parenthood clinic at 1501 Aldersgate Road in Little Rock, a place where chemical abortions take place. The Little Rock prayer vigil was supposed to begin on Ash Wednesday, but was canceled because of winter weather. Prayer warriors are invited to pray outside the clinic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through March 28. St. Valentine's example teaches us to love
Showering those we love with cards, candy and roses are popular ways to celebrate St. Valentine's Day in the United States. World Day for Consecrated Life is Feb. 6-7
The World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life will be Feb. 2, which is also the feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Celebration of this event is transferred to the following weekend, Feb. 6-7, to allow parishes to highlight the gift of religious life and pray for those discerning a religious vocation. Bishop Taylor issues email scam alert
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor issued the following warning Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, regarding an email scam that appears to come from him. A similar warning was issued in May 2020 by the diocese regarding email and texting scams asking for money. "There is a scam currently out there using my name. Do not respond to any requests for money or gift cards that appear to be from me. One of our priests was swindled out of $1,500. Bishop releases pastoral changes Jan. 12
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments Jan. 12, 2021, for the Diocese of Little Rock. Effective Dec. 23, 2020: Rev. Chandra Ery, relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Conway and St. Oscar Romero Catholic Community in Greenbrier to continue his ministry in the Diocese of Superior. Bishop: Vaccines are "morally permissible"
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor released the following statement Dec. 21, 2020, regarding COVID-19 vaccines. “As vaccinations against COVID-19 have begun in the United States, some parishioners have asked whether it is morally permissible to receive a vaccine since all of the vaccines currently in use were developed with some connection to a past abortion. I commend these concerned persons for their careful consideration of this matter, but I also wish to be very clear here: receiving the vaccine is morally permissible. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following pastoral appointments Dec. 17, 2020, for the Diocese of Little Rock. Effective Jan. 9, 2021: Rev. Bishop gives update after testing positive
Bishop Anthony B. Taylor posted the following update to his Facebook page, Dec. 15, regarding his condition after testing positive for COVID-19. "Just a quick update on my health: The Monoclonal Antibody Infusion I received on Friday, Dec. 11 really has made a big difference, and by Sunday my symptoms had improved markedly. My main symptoms now are just coughing and fatigue, which may continue for some time even when I am out of quarantine. Sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers and support."
