Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will ordain seven men to the diaconate in May and June. Six of these are seminarians for the Diocese of Little Rock. They include: Martin Siebold, May 18; Luke Womack, May 19; Ramses Mendieta, May 20; Michael Johns, May 24; Stephen Hart, May 25; and William Burmester, June 2. These men will be ordained transitional deacons, which is a major step toward priestly ordination. The seventh person to be ordained is Matt Glover, diocesan chancellor for canonical affairs. He will become a permanent deacon on May 25.
Siebold will be ordained at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in North Little Rock (Marche) on Wednesday, May 18. Guests are invited to come early for eucharistic adoration and vespers to pray for him and an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life at 4 p.m. The ordination Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow.
Siebold will serve his first Mass in the role of deacon Sunday, May 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. He is the son of Larry and Lisa Siebold of North Little Rock. Womack will be ordained at St. Mary Church in Hot Springs on Thursday, May 19. Johns will be ordained at Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro on Tuesday, May 24. Johns will serve his first Masses in the role of deacon Saturday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. at Blessed John Newman University Parish in Jonesboro in English; and Sunday, May 29 at 8 and 10 a.m. in English and at noon in Spanish at Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro.
He is the son of Michael and Julie Johns of Baton Rouge, La. He is currently studying at St. Meinrad Seminary in Indiana in preparation for ordination to the priesthood. Glover will serve his first Masses in the role of deacon Sunday, May 29 at 8 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. at Christ the King Church. He and his wife, Brooke, have two children, James 6, and Elizabeth, 3. Glover received his Bachelor of Sacred Theology (STB) degree from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and Licentiate in Canon Law (JCL) from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
