A healing ministry for post-abortive women and men in Arkansas

Project Rachel, the post-abortion healing ministry of the Catholic Church, seeks to accompany anyone suffering from a past abortion experience with spiritual, psychological and emotional support. In the Diocese of Little Rock, Project Rachel is a ministry of the Respect Life Office. It provides opportunities for women and men to experience God’s love and mercy through sacramental reconciliation, prayer and pastoral counseling during retreats, Bible studies, support groups and individual accompaniment. Care and resources are provided in English and Spanish, in person and online, so that participants can find support in the comfort of their own space; anonymously if desired. | Memorial Services | Volunteers | Español

Support Groups

A support group for individuals seeking healing and recovery after abortion meets virtually on the first Monday each month (second Monday in September) from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. These small group meetings, called Virtual Healing Resource (VHR) gatherings include time for prayer and discussion about a particular topic related to abortion healing (forgiveness, grieving, etc.), and opportunities for individual sharing, if desired. Anyone who would like to participate must contact us to request the confidential meeting link. Participants can join with or without video. VHRs are only offered in English at this time. Project Rachel also offers in-person support groups that meet for six weeks in various locations throughout Arkansas. These groups form on an as-needed basis. For more information, contact us.

Retreats

Project Rachel offers one-day retreats in various locations throughout the diocese. A Day of Prayer and Healing offers a safe, loving and prayerful environment for retreatants to begin or continue their healing journey. Women and men discover there is hope and they are not alone in the experience of abortion. These days of prayer and healing are held in private locations that are only disclosed to participants. Bible Studies

Project Rachel Ministry conducts virtual and in-person Bible studies as a way to begin or continue the healing journey after abortion. Bible studies usually begin during Lent and continue for eight weeks. Bible studies are offered in English and in Spanish. For more information, please contact us.

Memorial Services

Project Rachel Ministry offers parents who have lost a child to abortion the opportunity to honor their child(ren) through a private Mass or memorial service, which can include engraving the child’s name on a memorial stone. For more information, please contact us.

Volunteers

Trained, dedicated volunteers are a vital part of Project Rachel Ministry. Many who find peace through Project Rachel feel called to accompany others as they seek forgiveness and healing. Volunteers may join the weekly prayer group, facilitate VHR gatherings, assist with retreats and Bible studies, and journey with participants on an individual basis. The Respect Life Office conducts volunteer training and retreats.
