The Catholic Church has been celebrating the special jubilee year since Dec. 24, 2024. It concludes worldwide on Jan. 6, 2026. The theme was "Pilgrims of Hope." Millions of pilgrims have traveled in hope to visit the holy sites in Rome throughout the year, including Catholics from the Diocese of Little Rock.
Arkansas Catholic hosted two pilgrimages in September and October. For those unable to travel to Italy, Bishop Taylor designated five places for pilgrims to visit in Arkansas. A pilgrimage to any one of these official jubilee churches allowed pilgrims to obtain the jubilee indulgence.
In addition, a special Diocese of Little Rock Jubilee Cross was created for the jubilee year. The three-foot wooden cross contains a relic of the true cross of Jesus. This relic came from the diocesan archives. It cross has been available for veneration by the faithful throughout the year at various locations statewide.
