This event is for high school youth in grades 9-12. It will be held from 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13 to noon on Saturday, July 14. The cost is $25 per person. Scholarships are available. Inspired by this year’s national respect life theme: "Be Not Afraid," the Diocese of Little Rock Leaders for Life Conference seeks to educate and empower young Catholics to consider what it means to develop a consistent ethic of life and to explore how they can build a culture of life in their own families, parishes, schools and communities. Through presentations, activities and hands-on workshops, participants will engage in the pro-life work of the Church and discover how to boldly proclaim respect for the inherent dignity of all human life from the moment of conception until natural death. For a complete schedule or to register, download the registration form. The deadline to register is July 1. This event is sponsored by the diocesan Respect Life Office. For more information, please contact Catherine Phillips, at (501) 664-0340, ext. 326.
The Leaders for Life Conference, new this year, is also an optional, additional ending to the annual Catholic Charities Summer Institute (C²SI). Youth and their chaperones may attend the Leaders for Life Conference only, or, in addition to the summer institute which runs from July 8-13. For information about attending both events, go to the summer institute registration page or contact Tricia Gentry, in the Catholic Youth Ministry Office, at (501) 664-0340, ext. 418.
