7 seminarians take steps toward ordination

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will install seven Diocese of Little Rock seminarians as candidates, lectors and acolytes as part of their journey toward priesthood during special Masses in May at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. All are invited to attend.

The bishop will celebrate the Admission to Candidacy Mass Monday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. The following seminarians have demonstrated the necessary qualifications for ordination and will be installed as candidates during this Mass: Duwan Booker, St. Joseph Church, Conway; Joel Brackett, St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rogers; Christopher Elser, Christ the King Church, Little Rock; Cody Eveld, Sacred Heart Church, Charleston; Quinton Thomas, Blessed Sacrament Church, Jonesboro; and Tuan Do and Minh Phong Nguyen, both of St. Patrick Church, North Little Rock.

He will celebrate the Installation of Lector Mass Monday, May 16 at 6:30 p.m. During the Mass, Joel Brackett will be installed, allowing him to proclaim the Word of God during liturgies and catechize the faithful.

Bishop Taylor will celebrate the Installation to Acolyte Mass Monday, May 23 at 6:30 p.m. During the Mass, Cody Eveld will be commissioned as an acolyte to serve at the altar during Mass, assist in the purification of Communion vessels and take holy Communion to the sick.
