High school youth are invited to attend the 2024 Weekend for Life Jan. 20-21 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock. This overnight event focuses on right-to-life issues from a youth perspective. It is held the night before the annual Mass for Life in Little Rock.

This year marks the 51st anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision (now overturned) that legalized abortion in the United States in 1973. Participants are invited to celebrate the gift of life and the human dignity of every person and remember the millions of babies lost to abortion.

Weekend for Life offers guest speakers, praise and worship music, prayer, skits and a dance on Saturday night. Cheryl Ward Kaizer will be the featured speaker. Kaizer's husband was killed during a home invasion. Her presentation will focus on her road to forgiveness of the perpetrators of this crime.

On Sunday morning, Jennifer Briselden will be the featured speaker. She is the former campus minister at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith and director of youth ministry at Christ the King Church in Fort Smith who now lives in Atlanta. Following her presentation, participants will go to the Cathedral of St. Andrew where the Mass for Life will be celebrated at noon.

A box lunch will be served after Mass followed by the statewide March for Life with rally at the state Capitol, which includes prayers, speakers and music at 2 p.m.

The cost is $75 for youth and $85 for adult chaperones. Scholarships are available. Register though your parish by Dec. 21. To register your parish, download and return the registration packet with fee to the address provided.
