Add to My Calendar 2020-08-10 2020-08-10 11 Chrism and Priest Jubilarian Livestream Mass Bishop Anthony B. Taylor will celebrate this Mass at 5:30 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Little Rock. It will be closed to the public but will be livestreamed on the Arkansas Catholic Facebook page for all to watch online. The Chrism Mass is normally held on the Monday of Holy Week, and the Priest Jubilarian Mass is normally held in June. This year, these Masses were combined and moved to August because of the coronavirus pandemic.  Priests serving across the diocese concelebrate the Chrism Mass, during which they also renew their commitment to priestly service. Oils to be used statewide in the coming year are presented for the bishop's blessing. These include the oil for the sick, used in anointing the sick; the oil for catechumens, used during baptism; and the oil for the sacred chrism, which is the primary anointing oil. It is used in the sacraments of initiation and holy orders as well as special acts of dedication. The word "chrism" means "consecrated oil." To learn more, see Chrism Mass Symbols and Meaning. The Priest Jubilarian Mass honors priests who are celebrating special anniversaries of priestly service in the Diocese of Little Rock. Jubilarians to be honored and celebrating 25 years are: Fathers Greg Luyet, Jerome Early, OCD, Siprianus Ola Rotok, SVD, and Amal Raju Punganoor Lourduswamy. Abbot Leonard Wangler, OSB, is celebrating 50 years and Msgr. Gaston Hebert is celebrating 60 years of priesthood. Christ the King Church (Livestream Mass Only) true DD/MM/YYYY
