Click on the button above to donate online to the Catholic Arkansas Sharing Appeal, which is the diocesan-wide annual appeal that begins on the first weekend of February. Catholics throughout Arkansas come together to help fund the spiritual, educational and formative and social ministries and programs of the Diocese of Little Rock. Bishop Anthony B. Taylor kicks off the annual Catholic Arkansas Sharing Appeal (CASA) Feb. 7-8 in parishes across the Diocese of Little Rock with a recorded homily to be played during all Masses (in video or audio format). Pledge envelopes are also handed out asking parishioners to meet this year's $2 million goal. This year's theme is "Be Salt. Be Light." | Español

"CASA assists with those things that go beyond the capacity of our individual parishes: vocations, Catholic charities, our faith formation programs, Catholic schools, Hispanic ministry, our deacon formation program, our tribunal and, of course, it helps fund our diocesan offices," the bishop explained in his homily. Read about the CASA-supported ministries in Arkansas Catholic.

"Our next major project to be funded out of CASA will be the complete remodeling of Byrne Hall — the last of the original buildings on the diocese’s main campus that needs to be remodeled to fit current needs," Bishop Taylor added. "Any of you who have been inside that building in its current state know how badly this 110-year-old building is in need of a drastic overhaul."

"This is one way in which you can be the salt of the earth and the light of the world in Arkansas today. Please join me in making not only CASA but indeed this entire year a shared blessing for everyone," he concluded. | Read, watch or listen to his homily.

What is CASA?

Catholic Arkansas Sharing Appeal (CASA) began in 1990 to provide critical funding for the pastoral, educational and social needs of the Diocese of Little Rock. Through the generosity of Catholics our diocese, we have been able to help the poor, developing parishes and our Catholic schools to continue their ministries in promoting the teachings of Jesus. Donations have also helped to educate deacons, lay ministers and seminarians as well as make all ministries of the diocese a success. Find a list of ministries supported through CASA by reading Arkansas Catholic.

What Your Donation Can Do

The following are examples of how your CASA donation makes a difference in our diocese.

  • Parish and mission support — Helps offset salaries and benefits for a priest, a permanent deacon and religious sisters serving in mission churches.
  • Youth and campus ministry — Helps support diocesan youth ministry activities and Catholic campus ministry at eight locations around the state.
  • Grants to Catholic schools — Grants are distributed to schools for needs-based scholarships, educational materials and building maintenance.
  • Grants to faith formation and youth programs — The Faith Formation and Catholic Youth Ministry offices administer grants to parish religious education, faith formation programs and parish youth ministry.
  • Diocesan ministries — Helps fund all the ministries and personnel at the diocesan offices that support parishes, schools and ministries.
  • Seminarian expenses — Helps pay the seminary tuition and living expenses for our diocesan seminarians.
  • Catholic Charities of Arkansas — Provides help and advocates for justice for people who are poor, marginalized and among the most vulnerable. Services include immigration legal assistance, refugee resettlement, natural disaster recovery and prison ministry.
  • Respect Life Office — This ministry organizes the annual Mass for Life, provides resources for Respect Life Month and offers pastoral services through Project Rachel, the diocesan post-abortion healing ministry.
  • St. John Center maintenance and renovation — The main campus for the Diocese of Little Rock includes space for the diocesan offices and ministries, a meeting center with overnight facilities for Catholic groups, a dining hall and St. John Manor with accommodations for senior priests.
