“We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with great love.” — St. Teresa of Kolkata

The annual Catholic Charities Summer Institute (C²SI) will be held July 8-14 in Little Rock and Perryville. This event is open to rising high school freshmen through recent high school graduates who seek to not only learn about the Church's social teachings but to put them into action.

During the weeklong summer program high school youth will "Investigate God’s Word in Life" as they learn about poverty, homelessness, the elderly, refugees, human trafficking, immigration issues, the protection of the unborn and care for God’s creation through classroom work and hands-on community service.

The summer institute itself will be held July 9-13 at St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock. However, two additional, optional events are available to participants. Youth may attend the Global Gateway Program for Heifer at the Heifer Farm in Perryville July 8-9 and the Leaders for Life Youth Conference July 13-14, also at St. John Catholic Center.

The cost varies depending on which events elected to attend. For a complete schedule, or to register for any of these events, download the registration form and return it to the address provided with fee by June 18. Registration is available on a first come basis. Please sign up quickly to ensure your space, which is limited. Scholarships are available upon request.

For more information, contact Tricia Gentry at (501) 664-0340, ext. 418. The summer institute is co-sponsored by the Catholic Youth Ministry Office and Catholic Charities of Arkansas.
