Men, women invited to discern God's call

The Diocese of Little Rock will host retreats for both men and women to discern religious vocations in December and January in Fletcher Hall on the campus of St. John Catholic Center in Little Rock.

Men's Retreat Dec. 30-31

The Vocations and Seminarians Office will offer its annual Come and See Retreat for men interested in discerning a vocation to the priesthood on Dec. 30-31. Rooted in prayer and to consist of talks, group discussion, vocational videos and personal testimonies by priests and seminarians, this retreat is designed to help participants explore more deeply a possible calling to the diocesan priesthood. It is open to single men ages 16 and older and is free to attend.

The men's retreat will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 30 and end at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31. Register by completing the registration form and returning it by Dec. 23. Activities will be in English and Spanish. To learn more about discerning a vocation to priesthood, read or listen to the vocation stories of diocesan seminarians. Women's Retreat Jan. 6-7

The annual Women's Religious Discernment Retreat will be held Jan. 6-7. It is for single women ages 16 to 35 who want to learn about and discern a vocation to the religious life. This free event will include talks by sisters from religious orders in Arkansas, Mass, adoration, reconciliation, time for prayer, reflection and opportunities to speak with the sisters. The women's retreat will begin at 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6 and end with Mass at 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7. Activities will be in English and Spanish. The deadline to register is Jan. 2. To attend, download and return to the registration form to the address provided.
