Published: August 19, 2016

The 22nd annual Bishop McDonald-Catholic Charities Golf Classic will be held Monday, Sept. 26 at Maumelle Country Club. Tee times will be at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for this four-person scramble. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided along with complimentary beverages. Awards will be presented after morning and afternoon play.

Team prizes will be given for closest to pin, hole in one and longest drive. There will also be a putting contest. Entry fees are $150 per player and $600 per four-person team. If you would like to sponsor the registration for a priest or religious, the fee is $150. To register, download and return the player registration form.

A variety of sponsorship levels are also available, making the tournament a way to support Catholic Charities of Arkansas (CCA) and promote your business as well. Options range from being a hole sponsor to champion sponsor, or join CHI St. Vincent Health System as an underwriter. To sponsor this event, download and return sponsorship opportunities form.

The golf classic is the main fundraiser for the ministries of Catholic Charities of Arkansas, which include adoption, immigration and refugee resettlement services, free medical care and emergency assistance for the poor, natural disaster response, legislative advocacy, support for those struggling with addictions, prison ministry and resources to assist in parish outreach and social justice.

In 2015, proceeds for this event exceeded $45,000. The golf tournament was named in honor of the late Bishop Andrew J. McDonald who served as shepherd for the Diocese of Little Rock from 1972 to 2000. For more information, contact Bridget Lewis at (501) 664-0340, ext 379.
