More than 1.5 million children experience homelessness in a year and more than 38 million Americans live in poverty. Last year, 1 in 7 American households were food insecure. January is Poverty Awareness Month. During this month, we invite you to join the U.S. bishops, the Catholic Campaign for Human Development and the Catholic community in the United States in taking up Pope Francis' challenge to live in solidarity with the poor. In addition to a calendarlonger daily reflections are also available. All of these resources are also in Spanish. You can sign up to have the daily reflections e-mailed to you during the month. For information about how to address poverty, visit Poverty USA, We are Salt and Light or Catholic Relief Services.
