Bishop issues more priest assignments

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor announced the following priest assignments May 27, 2022.

Effective June 24, 2022:

  • Bishop-elect Erik T. Pohlmeier relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of Christ the King Church in Little Rock, diocesan director of continuing education of the clergy, theological advisor, diocesan director of faith formation and diocesan director of permanent diaconate formation. He is relieved of his responsibilities as member of the following boards: Clergy Personnel Board, Presbyteral Council, and College of Consultors. This is a change to the previously announced appointment. He was named bishop-elect of the Diocese of St. Augustine by Pope Francis May 24.

    Effective July 1, 2022: 

  • Rev. Juan Guido appointed pastor of Christ the King Church in Little Rock and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Little Italy. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as director of Divine Worship. He is relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of Christ the King Church in Fort Smith.

  • Rev. Brian Cundall appointed administrator of Christ the King Church in Fort Smith. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of St. Joseph Church in Conway, St. Oscar Romero Catholic Community in Greenbrier and St. Boniface Church in New Dixie.

  • Rev. Mauricio Carrasco appointed pastor of Church of the Assumption in Atkins. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as pastor of St. Augustine Church in Dardanelle and St. Andrew Church in Danville. He is relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of St. John Church in Russellville. This is a change to the previously announced appointment.

  • Rev. Martín Amaro appointed associate pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of St. John Church in Russellville, St. Augustine Church in Dardanelle, and St. Andrew Church in Danville. This is a change to the previously announced appointment. 

  • Rev. Daniel Ramos appointed administrator of St. John Church, and St. Leo the Great University Parish in Russellville. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro.

  • Rev. Jayaraju Sure appointed associate administrator of St. John Church and St. Leo the Great University Parish in Russellville. He is relieved of his responsibilities as associate pastor of St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Mountain Home and St. Mary Church in Mountain View.

  • Rev. Norbert Rappold relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of St. Mary Church in Mountain View. He remains pastor of St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Mountain Home. 

  • Rev. Paul F. Worm appointed pastor of St. Mary Church in Mountain View. This is in addition to the previously announced appointment as pastor of St. Albert Church in Heber Springs. He is relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Benton.

  • Rev. Jason Tyler, STL, appointed diocesan director of continuing education of the clergy. This is in addition to his current responsibilities as pastor of St. Joseph Church in Fayetteville and will continue to oversee Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Lincoln.

  • Rev. Andrew Hart, JCL, appointed diocesan theological advisor. As previously announced, he is relieved of his responsibilities as pastor of Holy Rosary Church in Stuttgart and Holy Trinity Church in England. He remains adjutant judicial vicar and judge and will work full time in the Tribunal of the Diocese of Little Rock.
