Sacred Relics of the Saints: Treasures of the Church

Friday, Dec. 1, 2017

Location: St. Mary Church - Siloam Springs

An exposition of sacred relics will tour Arkansas in November and December. “Sacred Relics of the Saints: Treasures of the Church” will visit nine parishes, including St. Mary in Siloam Springs on Friday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross is returning to the state with his special ministry to teach about these holy objects. He will bring with him more than 150 relics, some as old as 2,000 years. Among the treasures will be relics of St. Joseph, St. Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Faustina Kowalska. There will also be a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Many have been healed through this ministry. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own articles of devotion, such as rosaries and holy cards, and photos of ill friends and family members that they will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession.
