How Families are Matched

(501) 664-0340, ext. 347

Birth parents help select the adoptive parents by looking at profile books. The profile you create shows what you are like, individually and as a family. Most of the birth parents choose to meet the pre-adoptive parents prior to the birth of the child. A staff member from Adoption Services is present at all times to provide support before and during the first meeting and to assist with any other confidential contacts. Please call us if you have more questions. If you call after hours, someone will respond as soon as possible.

Preliminary Information

We believe that adoption can be a wonderful, loving choice for birth parents experiencing a problem pregnancy and for couples who so deeply want to become parents.

Not Completely Open

Contact with Birth Parents

At this time, our adoptions are not completely open, which means we do not exchange last names, addresses and phone numbers. If all parties want to be more open later on in the adoption, this can be discussed very carefully if in the best interest of the child. We can no longer completely promise that any adoption will be totally confidential due to the changes in technology that are or will be available.

Picture and Letter Agreement

We hope this information will be helpful for you as you prayerfully consider what is best for you and your family and for a child who needs a family.

Informed Decision

Medical Information

We promise to share with our adoptive families all the background, medical and social information that is available to us. We will advise you of any risk factors so that you make an informed decision about a potential adoption. We encourage families to discuss these risks with their physician and/or attorney before committing to an adoption. We will also give you additional information if it becomes available to us over the years, provided that you remain in contact with the agency.
